ABOUT
Masashi was born in Toyama, Japan, where he trained in hairdressing before starting his career with Toni&Guy. There, he won multiple awards and earned a wealth of technical experience, before transitioning fully into session work. In 20XX, Masashi moved to London to expand his creative horizons and aesthetic inspirations. He was quickly invited to work with visionary artists Eugene Souleiman and Soichi Inagaki, and went on to build a client list that includes Margiela, Selfridges, The North Face, Yohji Yamamoto, Uniqlo, Galeries Lafayette, Barbour and Levi's. He shoots for ELLE, FIGARO, GQ, Harper’s BAZAAR, INFRINGE, Numero, Players and Vogue and has styled the cover of Vogue Japan. Masahi’s creations are singular and iconic, with structural and technical styling that creates bold forms and impeccable textural detail. His precision is unrivalled - he’s a master wig-maker, a bold sculptor, a peerless cutter and colorist. He brings nuance and context to characters, and helps tell rich and era-authentic narratives through his highly considered work.
