‘My background is in art and dance, and I’ve found the best of both in nails. The creativity and intricacy from art; and the production and performance aspect from dance. It’s a combination that brings a unique style and freshness to my work’ Hayley trained in many things, growing up in Northampton, but not in nails. A professional dancer and artist, she was a passionate amateur nail artist: her skilled nail designs became her signature look - but not her profession. Hayley first became interested in nail art as a vocation during lockdown when she used her newly free time to experiment with boundary-pushing nail art at home. (One of the tamer designs saw her embed working, lightable candles in nailbeds). This period of intense creativity was followed up with formal qualifications. As a professional manicurist, Hayley’s artistic training quickly came into force - giving her fine art skills and techniques that a formal beauty education might not have produced. She began assisting Sylvie MacMillan, with whom she worked on Vogue covers as well as catwalk shows for KNWLS, Poster Girl, 16Arlington, Burberry, MiuMiu and Ferragamo, before taking on her own session work. Her rise has been fast and exciting: She has secured campaigns for Adidas and Smirnoff, as well as a vast portfolio of editorial campaigns showcasing her huge creativity. Now living in East London, Hayley is an enthusiastic and skilled collaborator, embracing challenging briefs and bringing imagination and sculptural wizardry to all of her work.
