LONDON —

Myuji Sato was born in Japan and began his career at 18, starting out at a hair salon before a lifelong love of fashion pulled him towards session styling. He assisted Soichi Inagaki for around four years, crediting him as the biggest influence on his career and the person who taught him everything he knows. That grounding set him up for a portfolio spanning Hermès, Burberry, Raf Simons, Simone Rocha, Louis Vuitton, Emilia Wickstead, Marie Lueder, Adon and Natasha Zinko on the show circuit, alongside clients including Vogue, Vivienne Westwood, New Balance, PUMA, KNWLS, No Fear, Dover Street Market London, YMC and Avvatteve. Among his most memorable jobs have been shoots with stylists Danny Reed and Gary David Moor, and the moment he first got to work for Vogue. Drawing inspiration from the fashion and aesthetics of the 1980s and 1990s, and from the beauty of decay and imperfection, Myuji brings a distinctive tension to his work - polished structure set against raw, unfinished edges.
